Privacy
Your photos go straight from your phone to this computer, peer-to-peer. They are never uploaded to or stored on any server.
How it works
- Opening Copy From Phone on your computer creates a random, one-time session and shows a QR code.
- Your phone scans it and the two devices connect directly to each other over an encrypted WebRTC data channel.
- Photos travel over that direct connection. The image data never passes through our servers.
The servers involved
A small signaling service introduces the two devices to each other. It handles only the connection-setup messages (which network addresses to use) — never your photos — and stores nothing durable: a session lives only while you are connected, and is dropped shortly after you disconnect.
To help your two devices find a route to each other, your browser also briefly contacts public STUN servers (Google and Cloudflare). They only exchange network-address hints — they never see your photos either.
What we don't do
- No accounts and no sign-in.
- No analytics and no tracking.
- No cookies beyond what the page needs to work (currently none).
- No copy of your photos, anywhere.
